Using Catalog Manager (advanced)

Here you can read a deeper manual of using Catalog Manager. This description is not silimar to the Quick start guide, therefore if something is unclear check out our video tutorials.

Functions related to tree view

The context menu of the tree view distinguishes seven options. The first two options are described in the quick start guide so we sill skip them here. Most of the options will be described throughout the keywords page, because these functions are the same with their keyword commands. The options are the following:

Rename
Renames a table via a popup window. See rename command for further information.

Assign
Assignes/link one table to another through a popup selector window. More selections are allowed at once. See assign command for further information.

Release
The opposite of the assign function. Only one table can be released at a time. See release command for further information.

Send to
This function sends an entire table with it's parent links. In the popup window type in the hostname/IP address, password, data port of the external database where the table will be sent. See build command with verb parameter as “TABLE” for further information.

Refresh
Refreshes the view, looks for changes.

Functions related to table editing

The context menu of table editing area distinguishes twenty-one options. “Grid/Set grid” option is described in the quick start guide so we sill skip it here. The options are the following:

Refresh
Refreshes the view, looks for changes.

Enable sorting
This option activates sorting function. If enabled, double clicking on the header sorts the entire table data ascending or descending. No physical changes admitted using this function. Although if the sorted changes have to be saved, then in the context menu choosing the “Send table” option will save the sorted table on the server.

Grid/Add field
Adds another column on the right of the table. Immediatelly saves changes.

Grid/Add record
Adds another row on the bottom of the table. Immediatelly saves changes.

Grid/Delete field
Deletes selected column and it's content. Immediatelly saves changes.

Grid/Delete record
Deletes selected row and it's content. Immediatelly saves changes.

Grid/Insert field
Insert an empty column ahead of the selected column. Immediatelly saves changes.

Grid/Insert record
Inserts an empty row ahead of the selected row. Immediatelly saves changes.

Filter/Filter dialog
Filter dialog filters table's data based on the selected column values. The dialog lists all the occuring values. You can hide or show row based on the checked values. All the procedure is repeatable recursively.

Filter/Show
Show only rows containing the selected value.

Filter/Hide
Hides rows containing the selected value.

Filter/Back
Undos filtering.

Filter/Reset
Resets filtering.

Copy/Field
Copies entire column to the clipboard.

Copy/Record
Copies entire row to the clipboard.

Copy/Data (cell)
Copies a selected cell to the clipboard.

Copy/Selected records
Copies multiple selected cells to the clipboard.

Paste
Pastes data from clipboard starting from a selected cell.

Find
Finds and selects the row containing a desired value.

Send table
Activates on edit. Saves the table. Equals to Ctrl+S.
